6 - Clans

6.0 - Clans

All players must make a clan, even if they’re solo.

6.1 - Clan Names

Clan names should be descriptive, reflecting what players see when looking at the base. Alternately, the clan name may be displayed on a sign somewhere near the entrance to the base, so that it can be taken in-character. Players arenot required to refer to their IC group by their clan name or to associate their characters with their clan name in any way other than what’s written on their build and deco pieces.

6.2 - Clan Size

See also: Build Rules

Clans have a maximum size of 12 players. Clans may have a single Sister Clan and any number of Vassals.

6.3 - Sister Clans

Any given clan may have only one Sister Clan. One clan is designated the primary clan, while the other is designated the secondary clan. This affects their build totals as well as the status of their land claim. Sister Clans may launch a counter-raid in the event that one of them is targeted for a dice raid, and may participate in defense in any mechanical raids as if their Sister Clan’s base were their own.

Sister Clans may wish to share their resources and use the lock system to allow communal areas of one another’s bases to be used by the other clan. This may also be something to consider extending to vassals in certain situations.

6.4 - Vassals

Vassals are clans who’ve pledged their loyalty to a presumably larger or more powerful clan. Vassal clans that live on their own land claim are treated as normal clans with normal build limits. Vassals who live within 30 foundations of the clan they’ve pledged themselves to (or its sister clan) receive a diminished build allotment, but contribute to the build limit of the clan they’re pledged to as well. Up to four vassal clans may live within a clan’s land claim.
