=== '''7.0 - Alts''' ===
* Players may have two characters active on Outlands RP at any given time. One is to be designated as their primary character and the other as their secondary character. This affects the alt’s build limit, but not much else, and may be swapped by the player at any time (while adjusting their build limit accordingly). Alts may not be used for [[Community Rules#2.2 - No Metagaming|metagaming]] purposes, and players are warned to be careful to keep information separate between their alts. You may not use your alt to seek revenge for something that happened to your other character or to pursue their conflicts.
* If one of your characters is a conflict-heavy character, we recommend that your other character not be. Alts are meant to give people a break from having to do the same kind of RP all the time, ''not'' for them to gain a mechanical advantage for their clan or for their other character. While there’s no rule against alts joining the same clan, we encourage players to spread their RP out a little and use alts as an opportunity to broaden their horizons and get some space from their usual RP.
=== '''7.1 - Shelving''' ===
* Players may have up to two characters shelved at any given time. Shelved characters retain any training, permanent magic items, or other progress they’ve made from season to season, assuming that feature is still in use, and will be otherwise compensated if it no longer is. You may not shelve a character that has ongoing conflict until that conflict is resolved.
* If you want to shelve a character, open a re-roll ticket. A post will be made in #shelving and if no one contests it within 48 hours, you’ll be allowed to shelve your character and make a new one. You may shelf a character once every three weeks.
Any PKs must be done either with the permission of the player whose character is to be killed, or with staff approval via a PK ticket. Authorizing a PK without a player’s permission requires a significant reason and very likely at least one previously attempted execution. | === '''7.2 - Re-rolls''' ===
'''7.4 - Resurrection'''
* Re-rolling is similar to shelving, but does not leave your character alive or take up one of your shelf slots. Re-rolling, like shelving, requires that you resolve any current conflicts before opening a re-roll ticket. If no one contests it within 48 hours, you’ll be allowed to kill off your character without the intervention of another player and make a new one. In the event a character needs to be re-rolled due to player comfort concerns, a ticket may be opened with the community management team to explain the situation - no one will ever be entrapped on a character they do not feel comfortable playing.
=== '''7.3 - Perma-death''' ===
* If your character is perma-killed (either with your permission or with staff approval), take a screenshot of the death emote and post it in a re-roll ticket and we’ll get you set up as soon as possible. Any magic items that were on you can be recovered by those who search your body for them. If these are found and change ownership, the player who takes them should open a ticket and post a screencap of their retrieval. If you would like to contest a PK that’s been RPed out, open the same kind of ticket and let us know that you’d like to contest it.

=== '''7.4 - Resurrection''' ===
If your character was previously perma-killed and is resurrected, they may either be played as an active character, or they move immediately to one of your shelf slots after the resurrection RP. Resurrected characters retain their mastery and any other training they had unless their means of resurrection states otherwise. |

7.0 - Alts
- Players may have two characters active on Outlands RP at any given time. One is to be designated as their primary character and the other as their secondary character. This affects the alt’s build limit, but not much else, and may be swapped by the player at any time (while adjusting their build limit accordingly). Alts may not be used for metagaming purposes, and players are warned to be careful to keep information separate between their alts. You may not use your alt to seek revenge for something that happened to your other character or to pursue their conflicts.
- If one of your characters is a conflict-heavy character, we recommend that your other character not be. Alts are meant to give people a break from having to do the same kind of RP all the time, not for them to gain a mechanical advantage for their clan or for their other character. While there’s no rule against alts joining the same clan, we encourage players to spread their RP out a little and use alts as an opportunity to broaden their horizons and get some space from their usual RP.
7.1 - Shelving
- Players may have up to two characters shelved at any given time. Shelved characters retain any training, permanent magic items, or other progress they’ve made from season to season, assuming that feature is still in use, and will be otherwise compensated if it no longer is. You may not shelve a character that has ongoing conflict until that conflict is resolved.
- If you want to shelve a character, open a re-roll ticket. A post will be made in #shelving and if no one contests it within 48 hours, you’ll be allowed to shelve your character and make a new one. You may shelf a character once every three weeks.
7.2 - Re-rolls
- Re-rolling is similar to shelving, but does not leave your character alive or take up one of your shelf slots.
7.3 - Perma-death
- If your character is perma-killed (either with your permission or with staff approval), take a screenshot of the death emote and post it in a re-roll ticket and we’ll get you set up as soon as possible.
- Any PKs must be done either with the permission of the player whose character is to be killed, or with staff approval via a PK ticket. Authorizing a PK without a player’s permission requires a significant reason and very likely at least one previously attempted execution.
7.4 - Resurrection
If your character was previously perma-killed and is resurrected, they may either be played as an active character, or they move immediately to one of your shelf slots after the resurrection RP. Resurrected characters retain their mastery and any other training they had unless their means of resurrection states otherwise.
